At Cetopo we want to support all of our customers working in the AEC industry, no matter their preferred software/ workflow – including those working outside of BIM and 3D modelling. There are many reasons Architects choose to work in 2D, either combining it with 3D work, or not – it doesn’t matter what you choose – there’s a Cetopo template for you. In this post, we’ll have a look at some of our 2D templates, and how they can be used.
2D DXF – for planning applications
Perhaps the most commonly used 2D data we provide is the DXF format. Favoured by designers working purely in AutoCAD for its simplicity and ease of use as well as those who need to produce 2D drawings as well as 3D. For example, our UK and Swedish customers can use these drawings to produce plans for planning applications.
Bands – for diagramming
As well as technical drawings, we know that our customers like to use diagrammatic plans to help develop designs, and to communicate intent. Our Bands template provides an accurate and visually pleasing base for diagrams and graphic plans. Available in .svg this file type is fully editable in Autocad and Adobe Illustrator.
Orthophoto – for orientating
We know that our orthophotos look great draped over a 3D terrain, and add depth to visualisations, but they are also great visual aids on their own. When communicating ideas to clients, or at public consultations they can really help people place a design proposal in a real world context – or even just direct them to the site!
We’re always looking to develop templates and material that helps our users get everything they need from Cetopo. Let us know what you’d like to see next.
